216398 - INCIDENT AFFECTING BROADBAND AND VOICE SERVICES   Last updated:(17 May 2022 12:03hrs)

Location: Harlow,CM17.
We are currently experiencing a network incident in Harlow,CM17 affecting data and voice services. Engineers are currently on site investigating the issue and will provide an update as soon as possible or within 2 hours.

Services are still restored in the area; we are aware they will become congested shortly.
We are continuing to work to fully restore services but due to the complex nature of this fault we will not be able to restore any further capacity today before peak usage times.
OFNL are working with multiple third parties to carry out works tonight so long as access is granted.
Further updates will be provided tomorrow with the overnight progress.

Fibre damage has been caused by a 3rd party working in the area. We have been able to put in place a temporary fix for part of our network. The capacity to the site is considerably reduced at this time and we are working to restore the rest of the capacity as quickly as we can. This work will take a considerable length of time.

OFNL are still progressing to fully restore capacity to site.
We have 3rd parties that will be starting to dig in the area tonight from 20:00, this can not be done any sooner due to traffic management.
Depending on what is found when digging commences will influence how long a full fix will take.
We expect these works to take several hours and may not provide a full fix tonight.
Further updates will be provided on 19/05/2022.

OFNL are still progressing to fully restore capacity to site.
We have 3rd parties that will be starting to dig in the area for a second consecutive night from 20:00, this can not be done any sooner due to traffic management.
We expect these works to take several hours and may not provide a full fix tonight.

Following an investigation, we have discovered that a third party has damaged OFNL fibre infrastructure in the Harlow, CM17 area. Field engineering teams are working to restore services as soon as possible, while data and voice services remain affected. We will provide an update as soon as possible or within 2 hours.
Update (16 May 2022 19:14hrs)
Work to restore service was completed at 18:17 on 16/05/2022. Customers should now find services to be working, however we have not been able to restore service on all our backhaul connections so customers may experience some degradation. We will continue to monitor services to ensure they remain stable. As well as restoring secondary backhaul connections to repair services fully.

Engineers have been investigating the problem and found that our site has suffered a fibre strike, due to nearby digging by a third-party. We are continuing to work to resolve this issue and a further update will be provided within 2 hours or as soon as possible.
